The sketch and process of my creation and the research
UNIT1 Character design
This is a story that takes place in a flower shop, and I mainly created two main characters, which are inspired by cactus and bees
Here's the description of the two main characters
Viridius:on the left side,Symbolizing life, energy and natural restoration, he was inspired by the cactus.Sensitive , often speechless when facing customers, good at taking care of new( born) flowers, very lively and cheerful in front of familiar people and love to joke.weight:2kg;height:60cm
Abeja:The word is Spanish for bee, which is also the basis for the character.Although it is a bee, it is very lazy in the non-working hours only like to lie in bed, but no one cares more about the flowers than it do, very good at dealing with customers, but treat it's good friends and relatives often a little perfunctorily.weight:1kg;height:65cm
Several elves born in the flower shop, look after flowers in the flower shop every day, they are very friendly and can talk to humans, once they leave the flower shop, they become ordinary plants, but the good news is that they can survive as long as they have sunlight and water.
A character's setting is very important when we create them, such as how they were born, how they lived, how they treated their family and friends, how they reacted in different situations, what they like to do in life, and what they keep doing, their body language and their expressions when different things happen, the way they express their emotions, and the resistance they experience when pursuing their goals are all factors we should consider when developing a living character.
As I was creating these two characters, I looked up many pictures of flowers and converted them into fairies using their inspiration. I tried to sketch a lot of characters in this step. After that, I refined some of the characters that I was most interested in, sketched their expressions and movements, and considered their backgrounds.
The chimera

The main body of Chimera is made up of one of my favourite birds, which I photographed in the museum and then based on that, I took different parts of other animals like the deer antlers, the foot of a lizard, and put them together. Due to the fact there was no fixed light source or colour background when I shot, I decided to turn them all black and white, this will make the visuals more harmonious. I found myself when I making the collage as I can show my thoughts directly by Crop the pictures and stick them together.

unit 2
exercise1
Due to the fact that this was the room of a spiteful 90-year-old man, I made the following adjustments. I drew a wheelchair to show that the man's temper was due to the inconvenience of his legs and feet. An old man was nostalgic because his favorite dog died, but he was also saddened by his loss. The style of furniture I paint most often refers to the vintage furniture, so many of my pieces are wooden, like clocks. Old people have trouble walking, so beds and cabinets tend to be relatively short, and curtains are always drawn to one side, as they have trouble with their legs. As the old man is withdrawn and avoids going outside, he has a calendar in his room, and he rarely cleans it, resulting in cobwebs. He throws his books on the ground at will. There is also no life in the flowers he has raised.
This is a collage of the references I found

This is my drawing and process by traditional and digital drawing

Since it was my first time doing perspective drawing, I spent a lot of time studying the perspective relationship of objects. In the case of something like a circle, I had difficulty finding the corresponding position and angle in space

It is important to find the horizon and vanishing points accurately when painting. There may be many vanishing points in different directions, but they are all concentrated on the horizon

The following are some rough sketches I made to learn and understand perspective drawing

I've done some exercises with perspective, some exercises with scenes to improve my eyeball soup project.

the exercise of the robbed room

The forest
the exercise of the fishbowl room

the lighting exercise

Research
My research on the house and furniture of the protagonist in this movie was similarly influenced by the tone of "Coraline", and I wanted to create a sense of the atmosphere and background of her life.

This is my rough sketch of my room, including perspective, what it includes, and how things are arranged.
MORE DETAIL RESEARCH

background setting
From 2000 to 2010, a monster feed on children's eyeballs in a remote cottage. Initially, the monster was mice and rabbits, so I designed a refrigerator and lockers in the scene because such animals like to store food, but some of the furniture was vintage because it lived here for so long.

ROOM VERSION 1
Based on my previous research, I came up with this line sketch for my room

ROOM VERSION 2

the eyeball blender process-we did during the class
In doing the blender, I learned the basic flow
I then started modeling my room and here is the process and a preview of the final scene

the detail modeling

the final modeling part of the scence

During the modeling and texture process, I discovered a lot of challenges and questions, since I cannot do the model 100 percent the same as I draw it, and sometimes the lines I use are too complete, which makes it difficult for me to do the texture. I always made some parts of the model together, even though they shouldn't have been.
shading part
The majority of my material is created on my own and some of it is sourced from this site ambientCG - CC0 Textures, HDRIs and Models

Here are the details of how I made most of my items in the environment

some material i've use
Here is how the scene would look after I add all the materials

As part of my project, I made some of the items self-luminous, including the candle and the light

As for lighting, I mainly want to emphasize the eyeball soup, so I add some main light to emphasize it and sun light from outside to illuminate the whole room. As well as adding some atomsphere light in the opposite colour to the other light, I added some light behind the objects to make them more visible, making the contrast between light and dark more evident.

The final scene would look like this

Scenes focusing on eyeball soup and other eyeball foods

Views of the environment from different angles
